I’m not sure about you guys, but Valentines day slips my mind every single year. It probably has something to do with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, being back to back with each other. Clearly this means I slack on getting an outfit until the very. last. minute. Continue reading “Last Minute Valentines Day Looks”
REVOLVE REVOLVE REVOLVE!
All I can say is I’m obsessed with this company for so many reasons. I’ve been dying to peak inside their store front on Melrose since I first found out that they opened. FINALLY they opened a beauty pop-up to the public that features a ton of products found on their site.
The month of December always flies by for me and I’m sure everyone else. Christmas is so fun yet so stressful that before we know it, the New Year is here. A new year means a fresh start, new opportunities, and resolutions. I personally am not a fan of new years resolutions. Instead I create a goal list for the year and give myself reasonable guidelines to follow. Resolutions are extremely difficult to follow because many people put such heavy pressures on themselves.
People who have skipped the gym for the last five months are deciding that they want to go to the gym every day starting January 1st. I don’t know about you guys, but on January 1st I plan to be hung over in bed eating a greasy burrito and watching Netflix all day. If you push yourself too far, you will inevitably fail! If you’re one of the few people who don’t fail, then CONGRATULATIONS cause you’re a damn rock star.
Instead of setting RESOLUTIONS lets set GOALS!
I’m going to give you guys some tips on how to be successful in the New Year to come.
The most successful way to achieve the goals you desire for the upcoming year is to write them down. Now don’t just write them down and then forget about it! Write them down and put it somewhere that you can see and read these goals at least once a day. Even better, CARRY THEM WITH YOU! Some of the most successful people in the world write down their goals and keep track of them.
The reason writing down your goals is such a positive idea is because you will remember them and hold yourself accountable. Successfully completing a goal is such a rewarding experience and it pushes you to want to achieve even more. Keeping your goals in your head means that you are more likely to forget what they were.
The key with this is also writing down goals that are attainable and descriptive. Don’t write down I want to lose ten pounds this year. Set a date for that goal weight! Say “I want to lose ten pounds by May 15th, 2018” and do everything you can to achieve that goal. You will see that and read that every day which will give you more motivation to reach that goal.
The reason this is so successful is because you are giving yourself goals that are attainable and not putting heavy restrictions on yourself. When I was younger I used to create resolutions for myself and I would ALWAYS fail. I would say “Okay starting January 1st I’m not going to eat any sugar.” Well it worked for a while, maybe a week, and then I would stay over at a friends house and we would bake cookies and watch movies all night. I ruined my resolution a week in and just said screw it for the rest of the year. Instead I should have said “I’m going to minimize my sugar intake each day and by October I want to be completely off of sugar.” The goal is more realistic when you don’t restrict yourself because let’s be honest, No one likes to be restricted.
So what are your goals for this year? I would love to hear some of your goals that might create new ones for myself! Here is my goal list for 2018 so far…..
- Create blog posts once a week that will be posted on Wednesdays
- Read books for development and success at least one every two months
- Grow my blog following to 6,000 followers by November 2018
- Maintain a healthy and active lifestyle by going to the gym as frequently as possible and incorporating more healthy foods in to my diet
As the year goes on, I plan to add to this goal list and cross off some of the ones I’ve started to create. I hope this blog post helps you and that you guys truly take this to heart! Make 2018 your year of success!
